For those who don't already know Mouse, she is my four-year-old Percheron
mare, that I adopted from FoalQuest in 2002. You can find all the
archived journals on our adventures here.
Mouse is not registered, but she is shown under the name "Justamere Shadow".
Mouse currently stands a little over 17hh, is black turning grey, and is still
one of the greatest joys of my life.
This
year, we finally mastered the canter, and began jumping! She entered a
draft horse show, and although she didn't place very well in her halter class
(as in, dead last), she won her barrel racing class, even cantering despite
the fact that I was riding bareback and she was in a closed bridle!
