News from the farm...

February 11, 2008

It is now becoming more and more evident how much we must do to reduce the negative impact our species has on this planet.  For that reason, Highland Clover Farm is doing everything possible to reduce the ecological footprint it leaves behind.  Even this website is green!

From our host server, drak.net:

"We purchase energy from 100% renewable resources, choosing solar power only, as solar power has the absolute least impact on the environment. DrakNet does not purchase any wind energy. While wind energy is clean, it does have an impact on wildlife, as wind turbines have been called "the cuisinarts of the sky" and have had some negative impact on both birds and bats. While solar is more expensive, it is the most environmentally positive."

Spring is so nearly upon us, and this year Highland Clover Farm will be expanding the variety of heirloom vegetables grown.  If you are interested in learning more about heirloom vegetables, or would like to try to grow some yourself, please do not hesitate to contact us.
